Huaraz - Base Mateo 4700 m - Cumbre Mateo 5150 m - Base Camp - Huaraz

Pick up at the hotels, departure from Huaraz at 3:00 am heading north from Huaraz, arriving in Carhuaz, continue the trip passing through the little dirt of Shilla, then deviate to enter the valley of Ulta - Punta Olímpica, arriving at the Base 4700 m in the entrance of the Tunnel of the Olympic Point. After a short break, take a light breakfast and head off to the top of Mateo, passing by the moraine. This summit is at 5150 m. high, from where you can have a great panoramic view of the snowy peaks of the Cordillera Blanca, such as Huascarán Sur, Chopicalqui, Contrahierbas, Ulta and others. Return to the Base where the transport that will take us to Huaraz awaits us.
